About the Journal

The Journal of Heritage, Society, and Technology (JHST) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by FRIE. JHST is slated to begin in 2026, offering a scholarly platform at the intersection of cultural heritage, societal studies, and emerging technologies. The journal welcomes original research articles, review papers, case studies, and conceptual analyses exploring how technology interacts with heritage conservation, social transformation, and cultural preservation. JHST encourages interdisciplinary submissions from fields such as anthropology, cultural studies, sociology, information technology, digital heritage, and smart preservation systems. All manuscripts submitted to JHST are subjected to a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality, methodological rigor, clarity, and relevance.

The journal supports contributions from academics, heritage practitioners, technologists, and policy scholars worldwide  JHST aims to highlight the role of modern technologies — data science, digital archiving, smart systems — in preserving cultural heritage and shaping society. It emphasizes ethical research, respect for cultural contexts, and sustainable technological interventions in heritage preservation and community development. The mission of JHST is to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, bridge technological innovation with cultural and social understanding, and promote knowledge that supports heritage preservation and societal well-being globally.
